You guys….to be able to witness a birth is simply breathtaking. The strength that women have to be able to bring a child into this world is remarkable. My beautiful friend, Henley, gave birth yesterday on New Year’s Eve and she was absolutely amazing. Her husband, Nic, and her mom were by her side every step of the way, holding her hand, holding her feet, and encouraging her throughout her labor. To say I’m proud of her for having a natural birth is an understatement…I’m not sure I could have been as brave as she was, she was so dedicated and never gave up (even when the pain was almost unbearable). And finally, after all of her pain, came the joy, and the overwhelming sense of love as her baby boy, Phoenix was laid on her chest….welcome sweet baby boy, your mommy and daddy love you.

I wouldn’t ride over five hours in a car and walk through ankle deep mud and water for just anyone….but Lindsay isn’t “just anyone”, she’s a great friend and (amazingly talented) photographer.  I’ve know Luke and Lindsay for quite a few years now and it brings me so much joy to be able to watch them as they prepare to bring their sweet little girl into this world.  They are going to be such great parents….and I can’t wait to wrap my arms around their baby in August!  We ventured (and I don’t use that term lightly…it was quite a haul through mud, water, and steep sand) to Michigan to take some maternity pics at the dunes…..it was so refreshing to be at a new location and it was absolutely beautiful!  I pray for a safe delivery for momma and baby, I can’t wait to meet you Emerson!

Meet my wonderful, fellow photog. buddy, Olivia. Olivia was so kind to take my maternity pics last summer, so I really wanted to do the same for her. She is expecting her first baby, Nora (what a sweet name!!) Olivia is just a natural, down to earth kind of girl, and I’m sure her baby is going to be just as beautiful! I can’t wait to get my hands on her little girl….

One of my best buds from back in the day (High School baby!) is having her first baby!! I’m so excited for her and her hubby, they are going to be awesome parents. Mandy looks absolutely beautiful (if only I could have looked that tiny and perfect when I was pregnant!). Good luck with the birth of your little man, I’ll be praying for his safe delivery!!
